May 2017: As you know, it has been an epic winter in southwest Idaho, with Weiser earning the dubious honor of “ground zero.” Most but not quite all of the snow has melted.
We do have a trench across the trail about six miles north of Weiser, please be cautious if you are in that area. This should be repaired by May 3, 2017.
We had a double culvert washout at milepost 61.41, just north of Council. We have a temporary bridge across it and plan on repairing it as soon as we can get heavy equipment on the trail without damaging the trail surface.
We anticipate higher than usual maintenance and repair costs this year. We appreciate any support you can give to us, including purchasing your Boise Open tickets or participating in Idaho Gives. Because of the 100% match, each dollar you spend will essentially double.
If we can answer questions about specific areas of the trail, please contact President Pat Trainor at
