Visit our “sister” Rail Trails! Ferry County Rail Trail (Malo, Washington). The 28-mile corridor (from the old San Poil mill site north to the Canadian border) has been essential infrastructure in Ferry County for over one hundred years, and with your help, will remain so. While trains no longer run, and the rails will soon be removed, through rail banking they can return. Spokane River Centennial Trail is a nonmotorized 37-mile paved pathway, beginning at the state line of Idaho and ending at Nine Mile Falls, Washington. Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes bike path follows the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way from Mullan, a mountain mining town near the Montana border, to Plummer, a town on the prairie near the Washington border. More than 72 miles of paved path takes you from high mountain splendor, through the historic Silver Valley, into the chain lakes region, along the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene, over the Chatcolet Bridge to Heyburn State Park, and finally climbs to the Palouse prairie: an adventure for the entire family! The Payette River Mountains web site is loaded with information with information and links to the area surrounding the Weiser River Trail, including day trips and local services.
